Busy bee

Yes, doing all sorts of things. Sewing, knitting, website designing, reading, studying.
I was a bit disappointed in this wool -

I loved the colours (they're a bit lighter than shown in here) and thought it would make a nice speckly effect on a sleeveless pullover. Unfortunately the colour stripes are so long that they make this stripy effect -

Anyway, I'm persevering, and making a slightly different version of this -

I'm making it a bit longer, I've made the front an inch wider, and I'm just about to add  another inch extra shaping for the bust. Wish me luck!
In other news (as they seem to say these days) I have bought myself a dummy and have used it to help make a top to the right dimensions. I followed a pattern for the top, but have designed my stripy throwback to the 40s all on my ownsome.

Busy (quite)

Yes, I've been fairly busy. I have designed another top for me. When it's finished I'll post it.
Before that I finished the cap that I shall give away. (I won't post of photo of me in it, as it's abominable.
I also made a cap for Olivia out of some of the attic find wool. Both made with no pattern, as it is so easy to knit a cap. Oh, I used a website that works out the top shaping. You enter the tension  and your stitch count and it does the math [sic] for you.

Here are the two creations ;-)

I'll be back when I've finished my top. I should say in advance - I've made it quite tight as a) acrylic can sretch, and b) I intend to lose half a stone before Easter.
